Application for Admission
Upon receipt of the Application for Admission, AJL Preschool will schedule a tour of the preschool with you and your child; this is an opportunity for us to get to know you and for you to ask questions and learn about the preschool. Tours are scheduled starting in January for the following fall admission.
An application for AJL Preschool includes:
- The application for admission form
- $10 Application Fee
Whenever possible, it is helpful to bring proof of income with you when you come for your preschool tour. In order to make a determination of each families’ financial need, parents must supply the most recent copy of their 1040 Income Tax Return, W-2s or a month of pay stubs. No family will be denied admission due to an inability to pay.
Financial aid is granted based on a family’s income and need and is completely confidential.
Once the amount of financial aid has been determined and agreed upon, parents will receive an Enrollment Contract and Parent Handbook, which must completed and signed as soon as possible and returned with a 2 week deposit. Your child will not be admitted if these forms are not returned before the start of school. One of the most important aspects of this contract is that parents must commit to attending workshops offered monthly at the preschool. Failure to attend these workshops can result in a child being dismissed from our program.
AJL Preschool admits all children, regardless of race, color, nationality or religious background. By enrolling your child, you are agreeing to adhere to the policies and practices that have been established in accordance with the Connecticut Department of Health Child Day Care Licensing and those that the AJL Preschool has found appropriate. It is the parent’s responsibility to read the Parent Handbook, and stay informed of the written policies as well as changes that you might receive. It is not possible to have all the situations covered under a written policy, and the Head of School will decide special situations. Once enrolled, a child is expected to attend full time unless he/she is sick.
