Founder and Head of School
Patty serves as both Head of School and Head Teacher. With over ten years of classroom teaching experience, she holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and is licensed by the State of Connecticut as a Head Teacher for Child Day Care Centers for Birth to 5. Prior to founding Adam J. Lewis Preschool, Patty taught in the Greens Farms Academy Lower School and later worked for seven years in its Office of Admission, giving educational assessments to four-year-olds applying for kindergarten.
Co-Founder and Director
Julie oversees all operations of the Preschool. She holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and a Professional Educator’s Certificate for Pre K-6, and she is licensed by the State of Connecticut as a Head Teacher for Child Day Care Centers for Birth to 5 and School-Age Children. Prior to her work at AJLP, Julie taught at Christ and Holy Trinity Preschool and subsequently worked at Greens Farms Academy as both a first grade teacher and Lower School Assistant Director of Admission.
Jennifer is new to AJLP in the 2017-2018 school year. She has eleven years of teaching experience in a variety of classroom settings, five of which were spent in Pre-K and kindergarten. Jennifer holds a Master's degree in Elementary Special Education from Bank Street College.
Teacher and Summer Camp Director
Sarah has been a teacher as well as the summer camp director at AJLP for the last three years. She holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University and has a wide range of experience working with children, including student teaching throughout college and interning as a school counselor at Staples and Norwalk High Schools. Sarah is a founding member of the Preschool’s Junior Board.
Doreen has been a head teacher in the early childhood classroom for the last four years. She is a certified teacher in the State of Connecticut, and she is licensed by the State as a Head Teacher for Children Birth to 5 and School-Age Children. Doreen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education.
Director of Community Relations and Expansion
Marissa joins us from The Center for Family Justice, Bridgeport, where she served as Director of Development. Previously, she was the Finance Director for Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and the Deputy Finance Director for the 2006 Diane Farrell campaign for Congress. Marissa is a proud parent of one AJLP student and one alum, as well as a past Board member.
Teacher, After School Program
Libby graduated from Connecticut College and currently teaches at the Greenfield Hill Church Nursery School in Southport. She lives in Fairfield with her husband and four children.
Teacher, After School Program
Lindsey has been an elementary and preschool teacher for seventeen years. For the past seven years, she has taught the five-day fours class at Greenfield Hill Church Nursery School. Lindsey holds a Master’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College.
Director of Development
Schuyler is an experienced Development professional who has worked in a wide range of educational settings, most recently as an Assistant Director of Development at Columbia Business School. She holds a Master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in Romance Languages and Literatures from Harvard College. She is a licensed teacher. Schuyler serves as Co-Chair of AJLP’s Junior Board.
A founding teacher of AJLP, Saba has been teaching in the classroom setting for five years. She holds a Master’s degree in Education, with a focus in Counseling Psychology, and has over fifteen years of experience working as a licensed mental health clinician. Saba received her Child Development Associate Credential from Norwalk Community College, and she is a certified teacher of yoga for children.
